On September 26th, a significant milestone was marked in Vietnam-Russia cooperation when Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology, Huynh Thanh Dat, led a delegation to visit the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia. The visit not only solidified the long-standing cooperative relationship between the two countries but also opened up new prospects for the development of Vietnam’s nuclear science sector.
JINR is one of the world’s leading nuclear research centers, with a rich history and significant contributions to scientific advancement. Vietnam has been an active member of JINR, and the cooperative relationship between the two sides has achieved remarkable results.
The main topics of discussion during the visit included: training human resources for the new research nuclear reactor in Vietnam, promoting the participation of Vietnamese researchers in important JINR projects, and JINR’s support for the project to build an accelerator complex in Hanoi.
The Vietnamese delegation visited the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the Laboratory of High Energy Physics, where they were introduced to the leading facilities of the Dubna Institute: the Superheavy Elements Factory and the NICA accelerator complex, as well as the activities of the FLNR Nano Center.
