ENHANCING VIETNAM'S COLLABORATION WITH JINR

The Role of JINR in the Scientific Development of Vietnam

The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) was established based on the Convention signed on March 26, 1956, in Moscow by representatives of eleven founding countries. The institute is located in Dubna city, Moscow Region, Russian Federation. JINR a world famous scientific centre that is a unique example of integration of fundamental theoretical and experimental research with development and application of the cutting edge technology and university education. Vietnam became the 12th country to sign the Convention establishing JINR in 1956. In 1982, the Vietnam Academy of Science (now the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) was appointed by the Government as the coordinating body for scientific research cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and JINR.
